“ONE HUNDRED WORDS OR LESS?!” the writer screamed to the ceiling. “How the hell am I supposed to tell a story in only 100 words?”
“Well, lots of people do it. It’s called flash fiction,” said the inflatable alien doll sitting on the shelf above his desk. “As a matter of fact, there are entire books and web sites devoted to it.”
“Impossible,” the writer replied. “I don’t have any ideas that short.”
“Why don’t you tell them how you got me?”
“That’s silly. My girlfriend gave you to me as a present.”
“There you go, then,” the alien said.
